What Was The Amount Of Money That Jennifer Rivera Left Her Family?

3.5 rating based on 91 ratings

Jenni Rivera, a late Latin music superstar, left behind an estimated $28 million estate after her death in 2012. Her family relied on her for money as her star rose. After her parents’ marriage faltered in 2007, she supported her mother, Rosa, and poured money into their struggling record. When Jenni Rivera died, she had a net worth of roughly $25 million. However, a lawsuit filed last year pits her survivors against each other.

Rivera married twice more and had two more children from her second marriage. Her third marriage, to professional baseball player Esteban Loaiza, also was ending. The couple filed for divorce. Following a recent audit of Jenni Rivera’s two LLCs, daughter Chiquis Rivera posted an Instagram Live to give details on the stolen money and a major betrayal of trust.

Upon her tragic death in 2012, Jenni Rivera’s wealth was carefully placed into a trust for her four younger children: Jacqie, Jenicka, Michael, and Johnny. The trust, a legal arrangement designed to protect a person’s assets, was established. On September 20, the Jenni Rivera Estate filed a lawsuit against the indie label Cintas Acuariot, owned by La Diva de la Banda’s father, Don Pedro Rivera.

The estate is at the center of a very public family feud between Rivera’s offspring and their grandfather, uncle, and aunt. They have alleged the trio plotted to siphon off funds from Rivera’s estate, once estimated at $28 million, in a decade-long scheme they say preyed upon their estate. $170 million has been awarded to the families.

Chiquis Rivera was famously left out of her mother’s inheritance because of rumors she slept with Jenni Rivera’s then-husband Esteban Loaiza. Reportedly, her interests are held in a company, Jenni Enterprises, valued at $25 million. This report alone raises many questions. In the 11 years since Jenni Rivera’s death, her family has unraveled, marked by deep divisions and disputes.

Who Inherited Jenni Rivera'S Estate?

Jenni Rivera's estate distribution remains ambiguous, primarily due to rumors surrounding her relationship with her eldest daughter, Janney Marin, also known as Chiquis. As discussions about the estate continue, the question of whether proper estate planning was in place for her heirs arises.

  • I shed a tear at this. Jenni is so special to her fans. Jenni is everything to her children. Jenni is more than an artist to me, and I think most of her fans too, she reminds me of my mom who also fought hard as a single mother and dealt with hardships. Whenever I think of Jenni I think of my mom who’s a hard working women. We both love Jenni so we have that bond. Jenni means a lot to us. That’s why I cry at this and cry when I listen to her sing at times. She’s just a special person to a lot of people. Rest in paradise Jenni 💕 🕊 🦋

  • My heart goes out. I’m so sorry for your loss and I know this post is 8 years after your mother’s death, but I remember that feeling of losing my dad. I found an old tape that my mom gave me. It was a recording of me giving my dad an interview when I was 6 years old. At the time of his passing I wanted so bad to hear his voice again and when I was listening to the tape and hearing his voice I just had this sense of relief I felt goose bumps on my arms, and my hands felt warm. It was a beautiful moment and I was always scared of falling asleep because I didn’t want to forget his voice. I tell myself to remember the good times and memories shared with him. It’s very hard losing your parent it feels worst than having your heart broken because that’s how I felt when my dad died. It felt like a piece of my heart died with him. I know he’s still perusal over me and he protects me. I have been in so many ugly situations growing up but i remember his laugh and him telling me “Mija, don’t hold grudges because god won’t hear your prayers” I miss you dad and one day we will meet again. 💕

  • I’m so sorry, it’s terrible when you lose a loved one. At first when someone lost a family member we would say I know,I know u miss them. Well I lost my daddy a month ago, he died on his 85 birthday at home, He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer out of the blue, the Dr. Told us he had it and two weeks prior,he passed . Now losing him, it hurts so much, I’m so lost without him. We are a very close family, n me n my siblings took care of him with my mom. I stayed with them through those days til his final breath. I breakdown alot and I feel like he’s waiting for us to go pick him up, like I need to go bring him home, he’s, lost, but I do understand now, and it’s never gonna go away the pain, the tears the emptyness. But hold in to her memories, n the love her beautiful music, cos right there, she’s with you all. We are taking care of our madrecita, making sure she’s not alone n letting her know how much we love her. I love you all, and il keep y’all in my prayers to continue to give y’all strength n comfort. Continue bieng the beautiful family that u are.

Same year as Whitney Houston who I adore. I can’t even go to watch the Riveras because I became so invested with this family. It breaks my heart that they have had to go through losing their mom.

  • When you lose a loved one especially one that was very close to you it does not get easy once they’re gone it gets harder I don’t know why people say through time it will get easier I really doesn’t it hurts more and more the fact that they will never come back it’s a pain that I just can’t describe and I know exactly what they feel I lost my grandfather a couple of years ago he was my everything no he’s not here and it just hurts everyday more and more because my daughter she’s 5 at the time that he passed away she was 3 and she still remembers him always talks about him asking when he will come back

  • I feel so bad for the family 🙁 Was tough perusal this show bc I can’t get over something not being right with Chiquis. The fact that Jenni had any suspicions about Chiqui’s with her husband says a lot, then adding the attempt at a music career and whatever else she tried makes me think she’s trying to copy Jenni’s life instead of leading her own.

  • Hypocrisy at its finest. Not even the other siblings are crocodile tearing like her. Where is she, where is she? sleeping. To think that the youngest daughter is more held together abd mature than chiquis is ridiculous. I love jenni and all her children but i cant stand chiquis. She has to ruin all the episodes for me. Can chiquis have her own show please so that she doesnt appear in these.
