Did Todd Kristley And His Granddaughter Share Custody?

4.0 rating based on 56 ratings

Todd and Julie Chrisley, the parents of Chloe Chrisley, first gained custody of their granddaughter in 2013 following the arrest of their eldest son. They shared custody with Angela Johnson, who also shared daughter Chloe with Kyle Chrisley. However, Kyle lost custody in 2016 and was arrested later that year. In response, Todd and Julie Chrisley obtained full custody of Chloe in 2016, joining the rest of their children, including Lindsie, Kyle, Chase, Savannah, and Grayson.

Chloe’s biological mother, Angela Johnson, is now trying to regain custody of her granddaughter. The family law attorney confirmed that Todd and Julie have proper custody of Chloe. The couple also share three children: Chase, 26, Savannah, 25, and Kyle, who lost custody in 2013 after being arrested and charged with assault.

In January 2023, Todd and Julie began their prison sentences, and Savannah was awarded custody of Chloe (now 11) and her younger brother Grayson (now 18). The couple initially shared joint custody with Johnson in 2014 due to Kyle’s struggles with addiction and bipolar disorder. After Kyle’s arrest in May 2019, the couple obtained full custody of Chloe in 2016.

The lawyer argued that Todd and Julie are not just having custody of Chloe but are her “legal parents through adoption”. The lawyer pointed out that the former USA Network stars “don’t just have custody of Chloe” as a result of Kyle’s struggles with mental illness and run-ins with the law.

In 2014, Todd and Julie started to share custody of Chloe with Johnson, who was fighting an impossible battle. The lawyer argued that they never should have taken custody over the mom committing fraud for health insurance. On November 10, 2022, Chloe turned ten and was celebrated by her family.

Todd Chrisley gained full custody of Chloe while residing in Atlanta but has since relocated to Tennessee. Johnson, now living in North Carolina, faces jurisdictional challenges in her custody efforts. The Chrisleys did not respond to TMZ regarding this matter. • There’s 3 sides to this story here. I really don’t feel comfortable with her biological mother all of a sudden saying that I want my child period. My opinion to this is, Chole’s biological mother feels that if she gets back custody of her. She will gets access to Chole’s money that’s in her trust fund. Chole is a CASH COW FOR HER BIOLOGICAL MOTHER PERIOD.. Why didn’t she comes out before with all this? Why didn’t she do the same thing like she’s doing now on social media? She would’ve gotten a better response. This woman is not even thinking about Chole’s well being. Remember this child has never lived with or being around her but you wanted her home???? Make this makes sense!! The only home this kid knows is with her grandparents. This is all about Chole’s money I’m telling you people and nothing else…

  • It’s very selfish on the mom’s part. If the child was safe in a good environment, why disrupt her living arraignment? Do she know that could do more harm the good. If she did go get her daughter for selfish reasons or momentary gain that is really F’d up. People never seem to surprise me with their antics!

  • This young lady need to be ashamed of herself. She should let Chloe stay with the chrisley’s the only family who she know. The family already going through alot with Todd and Judy going to jail. I feel like she wants the child back for money. Let Chloe be happy with savannah. Why you want her now? After 10yrs. She can’t even make herself cry.She ought be ashamed! Shame on you!!! May god be with chloe and the chrisley’s as they go through this tuff time.

  • The best interests of the child are whatever is best for that individual child. The law expressly recognises the role of parents and carers (including extended family, guardians and others with legal responsibility) in protecting and promoting the best interests of the child. However in this case it’s obvious that the Mother should be considered for legal custodial settlement for her child. Financial support from the grandparents who legally adopted her, needs to be transferred to the mother. When the grandparents and father are released from prison, the Courts should decide weather they should have visitation rights to their grandchild. It was irresponsible for any care giver to completely cut all ties with a child’s biological mother, the child would feel unwanted, rejected and suffer emotionally. Supervised contact centre’s have always been available in these circumstances, where children can see both parents in a safe comfortable setting and they can establish a good relationship, and the child and can feel love, warmth and experience happy memories. CCTV cameras are visible recording each session to ensure the safety of each child, support worker will intervene if any risk occur during any visit. Once again mother seems like the best option with the right support care package implemented by the Courts. Social workers can monitor the child’s well being.

  • I agree. Chloe should be with her bio mom. Just because she messed up back in the day does not mean she has to live the rest of her life without her daughter. Get her out of the media. She’s a child. Todd and Julie lied for so many years. I can only imagine how they played the court system for Chloe.

  • She was not push out of her life yes her aunt took her so called mom they 10 years she wasn’t even 1 when they got her look up how much she wroth now that and that is the only reason why her so called parents shan’t her back and the only reason why they want her back ……………. Because she wroth 3 million That why they want her back and the only reason and she ask like she give a dam. Please

  • The rich people like todd thinks he did not got kot the first time so todd thinks he should try it again an have his wife go in on it to i think todd should stay in prison for thirty years an his wife should go free if she did not meet todd she would not be in prison i feel so sorry for her she should be home for here kids

  • that is your child and you deserve to get her. bonnie and clyde are NOT her parents. they are mee maw and paaw paww lol. that was another one of his schemes as he calls them. one of his so called schemes backfired on him. the hook and crook with the government and and the scheme with chloe needs to backfire, and you need to get you child back angela. i am on your side precious lady. you have rights.

  • This woman was paid thats why she didn’t keep her kid. Now she wants her kid cause money might not be coming in and any money Chloe has from show or bank acct. This woman wants it. Where were u before?? Now you want ur baby girl? Please.. bye girl. Also, Chrisleys didn’t have much money. The show is what helped and becoming famous from that. If that didn’t happen..just ordinary person next door. Now children will have to start working and get money cause they were use to a life that wasn’t real. If they want that life they were pretending..wirk..work..work.
