Imagine escaping from someone who attempted to murder you, then later finding out that said individual had killed, dismembered, and even ate many men, then having to be in his presence again knowing what he planned to do to you. This man is brave beyond words, and a true hero. Whether he planned to be a hero or not, the amount of life’s he saved is staggering. It’s sad to see the path he’s went down later in life, I can only hope he’s doing well now.
I met the serial killer Dennis Nilsen when he lived in Willesden Green, London…..he seemed like a weird person… I then found a pair fresh of lungs windpipe and trachia in a plastic bag on the pavement at night a short walk from his house, plus bags of decomposed organs….I was a student at University College London with experience in pathology…. I reported the matter to the Metropolitan Police London and said the remains “must be examined by an expert” (a forensic pathologist). Two policemen arrived at night, I said I knew what I was talking about, and my mother also confirmed this to the police. The two policemen took my name and address, said we should leave…so we left them with the bags. It later turned out….after a Scotland Yard inquiry (UK Police HQ) ….that the two policemen took the bags and dumped them without asking for any analysis. A major case of criminal negligence by police officers.
This guy’s testimony is by far the most important. He SURVIVED Dahmer, led to his arrest, and most importantly, he spent 15 to 30 minutes with Dahmer (now I’m being told more like four hours) while he was at his most dangerous apparently showing behavioral traits that virtually nobody (who was alive) might’ve seen before or after.
My heart goes out to Tracy Edwards for being brave and strong enough in such an insane circumstance. The fact that he set his mind into calm mode, saved his life and other victims thereafter. I pray he has healed, moved on and know that he is one of the bravest men out there. God Protect him forever.
The way he was able to go over the whole thing in great detail so smoothly is insane, but you can tell he is so stressed and still so freaked out. His breathing and the way he kind of rocks back and forth while talking about it. I feel so sad for what happened to him. You go into survival mode when your very life is on the line. This man was intelligent enough to remain calm towards this monster, not only did he save himself,, but stopped further murders. He should have received counseling and help immediately after this ordeal. The fact he was refused help as a victim is disgusting.

This person should have been given a small apartment by the state. Instead he was left homeless while murderers in prison never have to worry about where they will sleep that night. This guy had absolute spot-on intuition about how to treat such a disturbed individual in that situation, giving no signs of aggression, being friendly and comforting and being a supportive presence while he was going through his incredibly disturbed episodes saved his life. I feel incredibly bad for him having to go through that experience and really hope he has found peace since that terrible ordeal.
It feels so strange actually seeing and hearing one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims. It really puts into perspective that they were real people with emotions and lives. I often become detached from the victims when i hear about murder crimes but actually seeing one who managed to survive speak makes it become all so real.
There’s an article saying Tracy Edwards was suffering from the trauma even after 20 years… His attorney mentioned that his life was completely destroyed by what happened in 1991. Edwards wasn’t himself after that and commited a crime, being sentenced to a year and half in prison. After him being released, his attorney lost touch with him, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
This guy experienced real horror. It’s insane to see him stay so cool and collected in this article. Follow up on Tracey Edwards This man’s life was destroyed by Dahmer. He became homeless for years. Ended up being convicted of throwing a man off a bridge to his death in 2012; sentenced to 1.5 years in jail and two years of extended supervision. It’s unclear where Tracy is now. I cant imagine the psychological damage Dahmer caused this man. But it’s apparent that he suffered greatly. It’s so sad. I hope Tracy is doing better now.

Sad to find out that Tracy Edwards never got over what happened to him, and as a likely result, he suffered from drug abuse, theft, and property damage. Which caused him to be in and out of jail, and imprisoned at one point. It’s so sad to see someone suffer and explain what happened that night, and then live the rest of your life with a broken heart and mind. Tragic and I feel so sorry for him and wish people didn’t have to suffer like this.
I can’t imagine what he went though in that apartment, when he was asked to identify the defendant. The amount of courage to face your assaulter is just huge. Really makes your heart cry for these victims even more. Ah that poor man having to relive that horrible, terrifying experience over and over again. I just wanted to hug him. He almost broke down in tears a few times and held himself in check. That shows me that he is a fighter, brave and the fact that he remained calm throughout his ordeal shows a very strong man. God help him in anything he does.

It’s clear he’s having a PTSD flashback in that moment. Likely of the door to Dahmer’s apartment opening as that festering, mordant reek nauseates and assaults his senses. The beginning of a nightmare that no one else could possibly comprehend. This man was extremely brave and heroic to escape such a nightmare. One of which he felt so helpless in, amongst the many other unimaginable things he must have felt. His entire testimony was so terrifying and saddening to watch. That trauma that shows so clearly on his face, even though he’s doing his best to keep composure, is soul crushing. Yes, I’m aware of what has become of this man’s life, and it just makes it all so much more tragic. Regardless of the wrongs he may have done, Dahmer’s atrocities ended due to his brave actions that night and on the stand.
Intelligent, courageous, calm and respectful is what he is -and it’s what saved him. Now, after reading some about his life after, I will say it’s inhumane that the system left this man to flail and fail and spiral into a life that wouldn’t have been his story if not for saving the country from the Dahmer Spree.

I can only imagine how scared and frightened Tracy must have been and wondering if he would make it out of Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment alive or not. WOW!!! Tracy is the hero here cause if Tracy’s escape from Dahmer, led police to Dahmer’s apartment of horrors, and stopped his killing spree. He was so brave and smart. He knew he had to act friendly with Jeffrey Dahmer, like he was comfortable with him, despite all the horror he endured in his apartment, so that way he could gain his trust and escape. Personally, if I had been in his place I would’ve been so scared to death, would’ve totally panicked and wouldn’t have been able to think about how to escape. I just finished testifying in a murder trial and this man’s ability to maintain eye contact with the (I’m guessing) DA is beyond impressive. I think nobody really understands what he had to go through during or after because it’s so extreme. After this testimony He needed someone to catch him, to give him a hug and understanding. In cases where persons experience this level of trauma, I believe therapy should be mandatorily provided by the judicial system for the victims. Tracy was never the same after this. He needed support on a level that was for the entire course of the rest of his life, let alone justice for what happened to him. It’s extremely hard to solely find peace in the fact that the abuser is unable to hurt anyone else. He’ll always wonder…why him? I can’t imagine the pain he must’ve felt.
He’s a polite, respectful, calm, brave & a very intelligent man. If there’s social media at that time, i am certain that people would have reached out to him & help him. After his JD encounter & ordeal, it’s sad to find out that his later life was not good. He may have saved himself & others when he escaped JD at that time but he weren’t able to save his future.. This man is in pain. I understand that this trial was 30 years ago but this man has been through alot since then. The ordeal that he went through caused trauma in his life that he may never heal from. Not sure if he ever got any help after this trial or if he reached out for any help but I feel for this man. This new Netflix show really reopened some wounds. I watched the grief of Mr. Errol’s sister in the court too. Truly heartbreaking. The fact that the police basically were complicit in Dahmer’s killings, that so many of these murders could have been prevented had they taken the disappearances and cries for help from the community seriously, makes it all the more angering. It’s not a surprise honestly, but it’s still so very sad.
To be able to escape a terrifying situation like this, and then to find out later about all the dead bodies that were discovered inside of this man’s home must have traumatized him over and over again. You can see the pain and disgust in his eyes. At one point I really thought that he was going to regurgitate as he was telling the story.

Bless this man, his bravery and strength. Because of him, countless other lives were saved. What is so sickening was that there was a 14 yr old Laotian boy who had escaped, incoherent, bleeding and drugged from Dahmer’s apartment. This kid looked way younger than 14 even, he didn’t look a day over 11. Clearly a child. 2 neighbourhood women called police, who believed Dahmer instead of them. Dahmer had told the cops that the kid was 19 and that they were having a quarrel. The cops delivered this kid back into the clutches of Dahmer, who killed him.
My heart goes out to this poor man. If I could reach my hand through time and grab his hand, I would comfort him and thank him for not only his courage but all the lives he saved by getting that monster off the street. And how did they repay him? They didn’t. Not even counseling. Anyone with eyes can see how this poor man is struggling even then. God I hope you have ended this angel’s suffering.
Some people don’t realize that Tracey Edward’s could’ve just kept running away since he was clearly free after escaping. His actions of alerting the police and taking them to where Dahmer was probably saved alot of lives. The police could have saved more lives and that poor 14 year old kid who clearly wasn’t an adult. I guess Milwaukee didn’t have a age requirement of 21 when Dahmer told the police the 14 year old was really his 19 year old drunk boyfriend who he went to buy more alcohol for. That entire situation is just horrible.
I know he meant well, but I wish the lawyer had been more gentle in how he questioned Tracy, especially considering the obvious ptsd he displayed during his testimony. Wow, Mr. Edwards LITERALLY saved an unknown amount of lives! Thank God he listened to his inner self and our Mighty Lord and played his cards very carefully and got out of there! Mr. Edwards’ braveness and then his willingness to go to the police is what stopped Dahmer’s murder/ cannibalism spree. I hope he has had a wonderful life and truly understands how important he really is. ♥️🇺🇸
What a brave guy. This was the early 90s where less was cared about people’s mental state. These days he would have been given a lot more time between questions and checks would be made regularly that he was ok to continue. He was asked a tirade of questions and he soldiered it. I respect this man and I’m very happy he was lucky enough to survive
This man is so brave. Listening to him staying so calm while that monster sat right there. To relive something so horrific and to be able to stay there and not jump up and beat the crap out of that man takes strength. May god lay his hands on him and heal the pain he feels. I pray that his life gets better and someone reaches out and helps him. Bless you for saving more lives.
it’s so so upsetting that mental health wasn’t as televised and supported of an idea back then. he looks so tired and detached and i truly wish he got the help he deserved. i know his life took a turn after this but i hope he eventually finds his way again. so sorry for tracy and the other victims for going through such a traumatic experience, i hope they all find peace wherever they may be.
You can kind of sense that while this young man was in the clutches of an absolute psychopath, he had the level headedness to not panic immediately, and used his wits, trying to reason with dahmer and give him assurances. it takes a level of bravery that most of will never comprehend to do that. It’s like a safecracker a methodical understanding of when to reason, when to distract, when to comply, when to stay quiet, and ultimately when to escape. Truly amazing.
This man saved so many lives in the capture of Jeffrey Dahmer. I’m happy he was able to make it out alive. The terrifying ordeal he went through..he was very brave and kept his calmness though out the whole time. I’m seeing on other post that he turned to drugs, homeless and killed someone. You can tell he was traumatized by this ordeal… this man needed therapy.
Seeing that Dahmer there with no remorse breaks my heart to a million pieces. Hope Tracy is safe wherever he might be. The Lord be his strength and support. My heart goes out to you and even though I am young, have that desire to make positive impacts on similar victims such as yourself and not for the money but for the safety of others.
This testimony gave me chills. I was shaking and my heart was pounding. This poor man what trauma he must face everyday. Thank god for this man. A true hero. Like he said it was god that guided him through. Just so sad that so many murders could have been prevented if the police would have just listened. Prayers to all the victims and their families. Jeffery dahmer the face of pure evil to its core.
Bless this man’s heart. I can’t even begin to imagine the fear he must’ve felt. Just Hanging out with a guy that seems so friendly, who then turns into the devil incarnate on a dime. He not only helped bring Justice to all those who’d already lost their lives at Dahmer’s hands, but helped save God only knows how many lives. The fact he was able to remain composed and not panic is astounding. He kept his wits and wasn’t going down without a fight. And he was fantastic on the stand. Totally calm cool and collected, and gave detailed, concise statements. I hope he’s been able to get over that trauma, as much as one can, and live a happy, fulfilled life ❤️
I’m truly sorry for the way this gentleman’s life was altered after this. God knows how many people were spared because of him. Society should of taken better care of this young man. We failed him…hopefully we learned something and do better by those who bravely stand up to monsters in court after experiencing a nightmare most of us will never have to endure..
I’m not going to lie this testimony is stomach-churning. I have to give him, Tracy much respect for being able to provide his traumatic experience so clearly, so vividly in court. Despite what happened in his personal life afterwards on account of this, he was able to do something at the time that most of us probably couldn’t do in such an unimaginable situation. I wish his story didn’t end as tragically after having survived that ghastly encounter. On a semi separate note: this lawyer was seriously irking my nerves sometimes. And I could tell the longer the questioning, Tracy was becoming more upset emotionally, trying to maintain his composure.
It’s the attorney asking him if he knows what demeanor means….that is not even a difficult word! Really?? 😒 This victim was very well spoken so why ask him that? Anyway, the Netflix series was terrifying. perusal this testimony is heartbreaking. We are so blessed to not have experienced this in life! Prayers for all the victims
This is disturbing on so many levels! The obvious signs of trauma and PTSD visible in Tracey, is heartbreaking to watch! 😢 Especially when his lips tremble and eyes water, as he speaks, when recollecting what happened… He may have ‘survived’ the encounter or the ordeal that night but did Tracey really SURVIVE? DID HE LIVE? His life was changed forever after that night. His bravery was unimaginable but he’s still a casualty. He’s still very much a victim of Jeffrey Dahmer. And because he never got the help he needed, potentially years of therapy and mental health healing, no little wonder why he found solace in alcohol and drugs, which caused him to turn to a life of crime, which resulted in him being homeless and being responsible for a man losing his life! Tracey took an innocent man’s life but I believe Tracey lost HIS years ago. His life story is beyond tragic! RIP to all the victims.
That guy Tracy has the most incredible ability to stay calm, his intelligence and mannerisms are admirable. Such a beautiful, respectable, brave soul. Thank goodness he was able to deal with such an evil predator that took away innocent lives, and Tracy got him caught. So much Love to you Tracy. So many years ago. Heartbreaking to watch. 🌸🌸🌸
Man this sends chills up my spine. Poor guy. I just finished the show and the part with this man really stood out as to the horror dahmer put his victims through. If this man hadn’t escaped we can only guess to how many people would have been murdered. Hope he is doing ok that is life changing evil that he witnessed that night.
Tracy you sir are not only strong but you are courageous I’m so sorry this happened to you and I’m so sorry for the mental and emotional toll that it’s taken on your life! You deserved better, you deserved help and love after this I am sorry I just want to hug you and the other victims family’s members ❤️
