I unfortunately live in San Antonio, TX, and this is beyond accurate. It will make you furious to go to Walmart or grocery store where everyone; but you speaks Spanish 1 woman has 15 toddlers Men start every conversation with women with ” hey Mami, I buy you drink, you got boyfriend? It doesn’t matter if she is 8 or 80. The only women you see has ink colored hair,, brown eyes and tan colored skinandhas already had13 children, whoareveryloudand run in frontof your buggy or intoyour legs. Your Presbyterian church has a Spanish service. Before I lived here I had no problems with Latino people, now I hate it.
Consuela? That name does’t exist in Spanish. I know well, I am Spanish. The mistake is that the name is “María del Consuelo”, and is abbreviated simply as Consuelo. In Spain we have many names like that, “María de los Dolores” (which is abbreviated to “Dolores” or among younger women, “Lola”),María del Consuelo, María de la Concepción (abbreviated as “Concha”) or “Maria Auxiliadora”, abbreviated as “Auxi” or simply “María” and lots of names like that. All of them refer to the Virgin Mary. I’m afraid that Seth McFarlane is unaware of Spanish culture. I’m sure he also doesn’t know that we use two surnames instead of one, the father’s and the mother’s.
