give me a break! I have great respect for James Dobson. He has stood firm to biblical standards. He has been a watch dog against issues such as human trafficking, child abuse, and child pornography. I wonder why TYT has a problem with that? Hmm. I was listening to the very broadcast when dobson announced he personally felt the need need to step away from mic in order to work on things behind the scenes of the ministry. It was some time later that he announced his resignation from the ministry. He cited two reasons: disagreement with the new direction of the ministry on certain issues and the need to expand Christian influence on the family with a new ministry. His son was never intended to take over the radio program and it was never cancelled. The radio program continued with its new host Jim Daily which dobson had already announced.
“Hating gays” this guy quote says. James Dobson was not a hateful person. It’s many of the gays who are hateful and always accusing Christians of being hateful. My friend worked at a hotel in Palm Springs for a few years, several years ago. Each year the town would host a gay celebration. Each year, he said, there would be used condoms in the stairways of the hotel, booths with sex toys, and other wonderful sights to be seen. Not hating, TYT, just reporting.

When you try to demonize anyone that’s not pure evil, everybody gets harmed. Yes, Dobson did have a harmful mindset and several areas, but he was very good in other areas. he helped me be a much better parent to my children and how to love and guide them when I have no one to help me. And if you think that I am lying, he writes about it plainly in his parenting book without shame. You can easily read a free excerpt from this book on Amazon “The New Strong-Willed Child” . The guy was physically abusive to his dog and then translates this as somehow a revelation on how to keep kids into submission! He not only advoates spanking he also condones other physical force such as neck pinching kids, to control and dominate his children into complete submission.
To be honest, I listened to the FOTF before & after James Dobson. They announced Dr.Dobson was set to retire, but would still be popping by time to time, & He was,..then *poof* NOT a word about Him..nothing! I thought He had to have passed on,honestly. He is never ever mentioned anymore at anytime now on FOTF. Things don’t always change for the better. “Business is business” I have some of Dr.Dobsons books. Have “Love For A Lifetime” on the shelf behind my computer, & a couple others elsewhere.
By the way, back in the good old days when he was still in charge, he took $2 million from a New Age foundation in Colorado. The catch was that in exchange for $2 million, he had to move the entire headquarters of FOTF to Colorado! He pretended to be conflicted for a while, but he took the money and made the move.
The unholy glee is not cool. Having said that, I did see a great deal of pride in James Dobson, and that was always going to be his undoing. I remember him bragging about his son’s virginity and his pride that his son to,d his classmates, “You can never be like me (I.e, as good as me). I knew then he was in trouble. But did you know he said his philosophy was based more on his MOTHER’s homespun wisdom about children than it was on psychology. Sometimes people get involved with other people not knowing their intentions and lose their business, 2 brothers with last name of McDonalds started a McDonalds family restaurant. Similar case with a Man that later ran for Governor and Minnie Pearl and a business called Minnie Pearls fried chicken you might look up case to see what happened, also called Minnie Pearl Chicken debacle. The man lost the election for governor, he might have bankrupted the state as he possibly did the Minnie Pearls Fried Chicken business. How accurate all the information is I do not know. I remember Dobson in the 80’s. He focused more on the psychological/spiritual issues of the human condition in relation to enhancing the family unit. As a christian broadcaster, he was cut above the bs televangelist crap at that time. I lost touch with his program throughout the 90’s and was appalled to see how political he’d become in the new millennium. His right wing crap really got under my skin and after he advocated for the Bush administration, I wrote him off. Glad he’s been pulled out.

Dobson was not perfect but he cared for family values and fought for that. You sit there applauding the hate coming out of this “journalist’s” mouth and fight for intolerance. You fight for these guys? Also, Dobson started orchestrating his exit from FOTF many years before all this.
Turk. Love you man. But, the gay thing has a poor track record in civilization. Dobson is just a man. So are we. Gays are now the big guys on the block. I respect those who can sensibly ideologically stand up to them. Like salmon swimming upstream, they give their all for a higher purpose. I love gays. i listened to james dobson on christian religion radio for 40 years, i wouldn’t have listened to him for 40 years if i wasn’t interested in what james dobson talks about, or takes a stand for, all lines up with the will of God. this is final judgement. James Dobson wrote a good book called dare to discipline, my kids both only disrespected me, once. my dad nelson who is supreme being God who i’m pregnant with right now, is who bought that book for me and other books james dobson wrote. my dad nelson bought me a whole bunch of books and He gave me bags full of cassette tapes with recordings of preachers like adrian rogers, charles stanley, john macarthur, charles swindoll, different christian authors, christian books about parenting.
