I am personally related to this Lewis family and I can tell you that Kerri was also a full-time father well Tony was sick with lupus, he was with his children at least 85 to 90% of the time so I hope that it all fairness that can be considered. Keri Lewis is a mitch!!!! He knew Toni had/has Lupus and should have been understanding of that and the reason she couldn’t perform. Idk why she even kept messing around with him after their divorce was over. He reminds me of my husband who I’m now legally seperated from. Omg, my dad’s baby sister has Lupus and had her kidney transplant back on oct. 24th 1994, the same day as her wedding anniversary to my uncle and I could never see my uncle not being there for her or divorcing her cuz she couldnt work. She was our on disability for years cuz even after the tranaplant that saved her life, her body had to adjust to her new kidney. My uncle picked up extra hours at work and still took care of my aunt and their son that they adopted as a newborn back in 1991 cuz of my aunt’s lupus they couldnt have kids of their own. He held down the house, taking care of my little cousin and my aunt. We (all my dad’s other siblings and spouses and cousins helped as much as we could as well and would bring my aunt and little cousin down here to Charlotte to let mt uncle have a rest every now and then). Besides my dad, my uncle is the best husband and father for not walking out on my aunt and cousin during those difficult years when she was sick as hell. Some men are bitches like Kerry, and my soon to be ex husband. The pre & post should have had a illness clause. I have lupus along with some other illnesses. The only way I can see continuing a relationship after divorce is if there was a legal/financial benefit to it. Like perhaps paying him released her of some of her financial obligations or alter bottom lines on net income after expenses. Other than that… As Faith says “You gets no love from me…”!!

Hopefully Stokely will continue to allow Kerri to tour and make some cash with Mint Condition. I went to high school with a few of these guys and I remember when they started this group. Lil Roger Troutman Lynch was a member. Mint Condition’s first hit was supposed to be I wanna be your man but Roger Troutman stole the song from his son Roger Lynch and re recorded it within a month and it was on the radio. Boy that was crazy. Both Rogers were later murdered. Daddy by his brother and son by an exgirlfriend’s male friends because he left her.
What WOMAN wants to pay a so-called MAN alimony. Do men understand MANHOOD (real men) would NEVER want a woman to pay his way? Considering his male privledge in society…?? This is why although Birdman is not someone most expect Toni to be with, she is with him. He presents to HER within the relationship a certain masculine energy that is appealing. She doesn’t have to struggle with a man financially. He PAYS for her to have nice things. Most all women desire that.
I understand that there was an “agreement” on the table but circumstances change. They had children together. If she was unable to work due to health issues and that being the only reason for the demise of their marriage then how could she be expected to pay spousal support? Toni was only doing what she thought she was supposed to do, take care of her man. But Keri wasn’t never a man to her. He slept with her sister Tamar Braxton. Then when her money got funny, he bailed.. and he bailed doing the worst time of her life (sickness). Toni Braxton need to set back reevaluate her life. Birdman isn’t man for her I don’t think. The double standards in these comments! If the roles were reversed, the very same women talking about how sorry this man is would be congratulating Toni! Also what exactly did she expose? Black men better take a look at what these black women are saying all over social media about them. That way the next time they collectively throw a fit about some black celebrity dating a white or other woman,you won’t be phased. Listen, in her words men may have been the “new bitches” but Toni has always been a money fool, periot!! I’ve read her autobiography and watched Mint Condition’s Unsung and on Unsung the group member talked about after Terri and Toni began dating this fool left the group to be her manager. Manager? Was he even experienced to be somebody’s manager, he played instruments especially for an entertainer who was dropping hits like Toni used to, did he even know how to negotiate her career? The group members didn’t think so, they were like the group was at the height of their career and this man left to sit up under his rich wife. Now if he’s on her management team then she’s paying him right? That means she has to work harder to keep the family entire afloat or nobody gets paid because he ain’t bringing in no money. So no she gets sick, no income coming in, who, in Wendy Williams words, is less than smart? Toni for financing the relationship. How many times has this woman filed bankruptcy? Not Terri’s fault if she was doubt struck by love, he may have been a user but she is/was relationship silly and I say that because Birdman’s money ain’t right either, he has several law suits pending. Black women just set themselves up for their own downfall when they go into a relationship knowing they’re the breadwinner, but still wanting the man to have traditional ideas about the relationship as well as “traditional” type morals. A lot of women know from the beginning when they have a man that won’t stick around during hard times, but the problem is they don’t think those hard times will hit them. You need to take a person for who they truly are from the start and don’t expect them to be better later on. I do feel bad for her in a way, but she said it herself that she was going thru a phase & kinda wanted the role that she got. Well…she learned a lesson. Hopefully.
