What Happened To The Plath Kids?
The Plath family, featured on TLC's "Welcome to Plathville," faced significant challenges following Kim and Barry Plath's separation in June 2022 and the later official divorce filing on June 26, 2024. Despite a strict upbringing devoid of cell phones, soda, and television, Kim and Barry chose to showcase their lives with their nine children on the reality show. The family dynamics became strained, leading to estrangement from four of the children, including oldest daughter Hosanna, who married young and distanced herself.
As tensions escalated, the remaining siblings united to release a joint statement amid their parents' divorce and Olivia Plath's emotional public outbursts. Kim, now residing in Florida, is seeking primary custody of the three youngest kids—Amber, Cassia, and Mercy. The tragic loss of their son Joshua in 2008 still looms over the family, impacting their narrative on the show. The series sheds light on the Plath's unconventional lifestyle and the emotional struggles of their children, including Ethan, Micah, and Moriah, as they navigate adulthood with the backdrop of their strict upbringing. The family's path has been marked by grief, separation, and the quest for independence, leading to a growing connection with the audience through their shared experiences.
Why Did Hosanna Leave The Plath Family?
Hosanna Plath, who left home at 21 to marry fellow musician Timothy Noble, now travels the country performing gospel music with him. Valuing her privacy, Hosanna has distanced herself from her family featured on "Welcome to Plathville," possibly to shield her marriage from family drama. Her absence from the show has sparked curiosity among fans, who first noted her lack of presence in the trailer released in 2019. While her sister Moriah explained that Hosanna simply chose not to be on the show and moved away after marriage, the dynamics within the family remain complex.
Married in June 2019, Hosanna and Timothy relocated from Georgia to Ohio, which has contributed to her limited appearances on the show. The couple met at a gospel music convention in 2016, and now share two children. Hosanna’s decision to prioritize her personal life over reality television has garnered respect from some family members, who appreciate her choice for a private life. Unlike her siblings, most of whom actively participate in the show, Hosanna seems content living away from the family nest and pursuing her musical career.
This decision has led to speculation regarding her relationship with her family, but it appears more about her personal aspirations rather than familial strife. Ultimately, Hosanna’s story exemplifies a desire for independence and privacy outside the confines of reality TV.

📹 Ethan & Olivia’s Divorce Drama Welcome to Plathville TLC
Ethan and Olivia struggle with the ups and downs of their divorce. While Ethan hopes they might work things out, Olivia is ready to …
Love the show, very sad about Kim and Berry divorcing. I did notice this episode Micah seemed to be a little too into his appearance. One thing I’ve always liked about him is he’s a good-looking young man, but he didn’t seem arrogant. I really hope that doesn’t change as a result of being on the show.
Ethan confirmed that Olivia had to change his password on his bank account. In order to prevent Kim from siphoning off his money. Micah and Miriah believe their mom lies. It’s unfortunate that Ethan was so weak and caved to desire of wanting to be back in the safety of that isolated world of unenlightment.
Sounds like she had already met someone. “Not be with someone I have a deep connection with…” There’s no guarantee that a woman, especially one with so many children (especially to have at least partial custody of), will ever find another partner, much less one she will have a deep connection with… She chose to have every single one of those kids and raise them in a bubble, home school them etc. Now she’s bolting? Who is supposed to do for them what she’s defined as necessary? I doubt they could slide right in in public school. We see huge gaps in what the older kids were taught (and NOT). Is Lydia supposed to sacrifice her life to take over for the next 10 years. I say Kim chose to have them. She needs to raise them, not go pretend she is a twenty something free to focus first and foremost on extreme self-actualization.
