  • I think the Bates family is a great testimony. I love the way Tori and Bobby pray together about their lives and what God’s guidance and direction. I also think Kelly Jo is a great mom guiding and teaching her children. Her older children also help teach and help the younger children. Their mom and dad are guiding their older children to help raise their brother’s and sisters. This will help them when their raising their own children. So many young people don’t even want children cause they don’t want to take the time to raise and guide their children.

  • If Mr. & Mrs. Bates are able to take care of that number of children, and provide for them without placing a further burden on the backs of the taxpayers, which apparently they are, based upon what I’ve seen of them and their family on the internet and on TV, then I hope the Lord blesses them with as many as he sees fit. Of course I have only ever seen them on TV, but the children appear to be intelligent, very talented, clean, healthy, well mannered, and respectful, so I believe that these are great parents, blessed abundantly by the Lord. They have my love & prayers.

  • Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20) Nowadays, people accuse those who have many children as sinners and those who like to get drunk, be sexually promiscuous, and dress seductively normal. I get it, I grew up in this mixed up culture and used to be brainwashed to believe the same, but I saw the light. God’s way is the only way that can make rich and add no sorrow with it. No one is perfect and God doesn’t expect us to be, but what He does require is that we show others the same grace that is extended toward us.

  • They are not a burden to anyone, it would not be my choice, however they seem healthy well behaved human beings. There are families with many less children, that don’t turn out nearly as well. They feed them, they clothe them, they educate them, they love them. Leave them alone. They seem to have a handle on this folks.

  • Makes you wonder why some “parents” can’t handle One child. Answer: Society,tv,no Quality family upbringing. Spend time structuring your child in the way they should behave and stop letting society do it. They are smart, well behaved, well rounded children. NOT fouled mouth “stupid” acting children. Some you see screaming in the stores and throwing tantrums really make you want to knock out the kid AND the parents sometimes.

  • My mom was the OLDEST of 13 kids and her father ( my grandfather), was the YOUNGEST of 16. They raised, canned ALL their food, rang the chicken’s necks, put them in boiling water and then pluck the feathers, cut them up and fried the chickens for supper. They cut their own beef from cows and slaughtered pigs for bacon and other meat. They grew all their vegetables, cotton, tobacco, watermelons. my mom said that at night sometimes all they would have is cold milk that was out of the well and cornbread. NOW…. If I were my great-grandmother or grandmother I would have slapped my grandaddy upside the head, after about 5. My mom was born in 1922. NO running water, NO electricity. The well kept the milk and watermelon 🍉 cold.

  • Well, how many is too many? For them, 20, 25, 30….They believe in the Lord, most important, the trust in the Lord, so, let them be! If parents were more like Gil Bates and less denying, America could be a better place. Today, kids of age of 12, 13 are doing things that were inconceivable 20, 30 years ago… Wake up America, turn your eyes to Jesus.

  • Mrs bates looks very pretty I love her voice she is a nice mom! Mr bates is very nice too ♥️ Erin is very beautiful. I just adore her; very well behaved children 👶🏻 I think 🤔 I just love them ;; they are a family of America mr bates should run for president!!!! The Duggar’s are nice too but mr mrs bates are my choice♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏❤️🙆🏻‍♀️

  • I feel down deep! Those children are very Polite Love each other deeply! But can they afford College for all them! I feel the Bates & the Dugger’s if they both have TV shows ? The jury is out! One thing I see is both the girls & Boys feel it’s normal to marry & have unlimited amount of children? With the world’s Problems such as Pandemic & how do they afford Healthcare for them all! Jury is out? Again I feel they all seem Happy!

  • It’s impossible to provide all normal family will afford for their kids. For 1 year, i need to provide 1 pair of shoes for school, 1 pair of shoes cor daycare, 1 paire if shoes at home, sandale, rain boot, winter boot…for 1 kid. Image…😅 Of course they recycle item but it’s not cool when your are the 2e or 3rd kid to use it.

  • I am a Christian, happen to live in Knoxville (which as the article said they live right outside of), & think that if they want to lead their life’s like this, they most certainly can. However, with that said, at the same time, it must really be depressing to have to live in that family. No internet, privacy, & being forced to wear jeans & T-Shirts while swimming, I would most likely become insane & depressed. I’m a more liberal Christian but I still think that they should be allowed to have as many kids as they want (it’s their life to deal with, not mine). I wonder what would happen if they gave birth to a child that came out having a liberal personality? Would they hunch the child in interventions to be the extremely conservative & primitive kid like the rest of the pups in the litter, or practically excommunicate with the child?

  • What is the real world? Going down the road to visit someone you have something in common with, going shopping in town, going on a road trip to visit other people you have something in common with, going to your paid or volunteer job? Going to college to study something that interests you? Because for some people that is the real world.

  • Somehow the Bates family is more believable than the Duggar family. For one, Gil is not as dictatorial as Jim Bob. I get the feeling that if Kelly did not want all those children, she would not have been forced to have them. However, one never knows how their children are affected by all this. Hope they have no weird situations happening behind closed doors like the Duggar scandal.

  • Not these days. With pregnancy tests determining pregnancy ten days after conception, or pregnancy symptoms kicking in a week after conception, there are some women who know right away. She’s not being hypocritical. As I said in my other comment, God grants people wisdom. If God grants someone the wisdom to create medication, it is not our place to spurn that medication. They have never said they believe in shunning doctors nor is that part of the doctrine of Gothardism.

  • I prefer this family to the Duggars because they’re not as media trained, they clearly know how to run their family without relying on the TV-funds (wonder if the last 5 Duggar kids would’ve been born without TLC supplementing their bank account) and they seem to be far more family orientated than the Duggars. Jim-Bob always reminds me of a boss talking to his new interns when talking to the kids. He’s always explaining for the camera’s, not spending time with his kids.

  • Humans are a certain type of species that thrives on having a few kids, but raising them well. Unlike bugs who have many offspring and just hope some make it to reproduce again. Although honestly I don’t mind them having the many kids as long as they can care for them properly, I just hope that they are letting them (especially the older ones) make their owns decisions in life.

  • Before you start criticizing this family or the Duggar Family, please watch this first AND then direct your rude comments and hostility where you should be directing it. youtube.com/watch?v=RBqjZ0KZCa0 These people pay to support their own family, therefore it’s not any of OUR business. They aren’t being rude and judging the families that want NO children and want to devote their lives to their careers. Some families want a lot of children (for religious reasons or personal reasons) and that is THEIR choice. “Choice” should work BOTH ways! People have the right to decide the size of their family. It’s extremely rude to attack their lifestyle and religion. If they have the ability to provide for them and they are taking good care of their children…. then leave them alone!

  • These people have more heart and love in their whole bodies than some of you have in your big toes!!! Shame on you for putting them down for the amount of children they decide to have!! As far as taking the hormones goes she said that the child is already alive. ok so if you know about this child and know you can do something to save it rather than not doing anything wouldn’t you? God isn’t going to allow you to conceive just for you to turn around and say no I don’t think I’ll save my child. These are the most amazing people I’ve ever met in my entire life. I agree everyone has their own opinion but to bash someone like some of you are doing makes you no better than what you are saying about them. God isn’t doing any hiring folks! Sweep out from under your own doorstep first! God Bless!

  • uh what about when they want to have phones and tvs? not let them? be all weird and raise them to be overly modest about themselves? in my opinion the mom and dad are messed up and I feel sorry for them. must be bad having friends who have tvs and article games or the internet when you don’t. I’m so thankful I’m raised in a family where at least I can fit in with society -.- just saying..

  • We have a climate crisis. Our water supply is dwindling. A large portion of the world is food deprived. Health care is cruising toward bankruptcy. Do you feel God is making a statement? I do. These people are not like us (“only bigger!”). because most people understand that breeding 19 children is different than raising a litter of puppies. That is unless you arrogantly feel that your position in the universe grants you permission to ignore all of the damage you are doing.

  • Why not? If American women have the freedom to choose to terminate a pregnancy, why then should they not have the freedom to choose to keep a pregnancy viable? God gave people wisdom to know what to do, including to create medication. If one believes that every conception is God’s will, then why spurn medication that will help keep that pregnancy viable?

  • They don’t make that much money.. They don’t have, (and say they don’t need to have) insurance bc it’s free, even though we pay for it! They home school their kids, do not allow them any access to the real world, but they want to have more kids and have their older kids go to a public college? Ummm.. Two words.. Shell shocked! The kids will never survive in the real world!

  • Polluting the environment with plague like rats. After having all those kids I bet she’s wearing a pad 24/7 leaking out n her bowels falling out. It’s disgusting not letting ur body heal and smelling like urine! She must have saggy skin on her belly. Her partner secretly cheating on her as there’s nothing left of her body to keep him eww. The amount of stitches needed n having constant diarrhoea as the muscles r so loose, I’m scared for her.

  • a cult of nut cases. they all attend a southern Baptist church that has over 1,200 members. the family count is less than 90. they are not the only family that has 19 children. Many of those families have twenty plus children. One of the families in that church has a funeral home that handles at least one funeral a day for stillborn children from that cult.

  • Are any of them twins? 19 pregnancies seems like an awful lot. I feel like out of 19 kids at least a few have to be apart of a multiple birth. It seems that it would be pretty likely for that to be true. Is it just me (sorry if you’re offended) but do Baptist people tend to have a lot of kids? The family in the house next to mine, their father is a pastor at a HUGE baptist church, they have (had to count 😂) 5 kids, this is off topic but there’s one girl named Reaghan, and 4 boys, DawSON HarriSON AnderSON and a year old baby KaySON. And they have a dog. Lol thought their names were funny.

  • To the bates iam confuse what the older duger did and at the that Madison I think not letting the bigger kids out and not had time to explore they married then they like the freedom is like ginger she marry to her hus ok she met him now she’s feels free she wears pants heels I must confess she looks happy very happy pretty she is isn’t it time to let go maybe the kids feel tide not free is like is weird on your out New York they ask one of your boys about the way new yorkinos when they were tanning he answer they had forgotten the rest of their clothes or was ask about a girl on a bikini he said can we change the subject please it sounded funny to me we live the 2000 goodness people let the kids wake up look at Jill dugar she wears pants ear rings rebels got mr dugar angry but still Amy isn’t welcome for bad influence a on the girls look young dugar what he done incest plus that Madison u see all of this is so confusing on me is me I know there’s is temptation but if the bigger kids don’t explore this will happen the mines are mines there are others religions I will only mention one being Amish they let the kids out they are free it don’t work they go back but atlease they got out tasted a little freedom now the ones that like it they stay out away forever maria thank u
