this fact can be incredibly hard for survivors to process when they’ve tried to disclose abuse to someone only to be given a skeptical eyebrow raise in response, not feeling believed, as a survivor, is something that’s going to crush someone’s motivation to seek help, when your support system doesn’t believe you, you really begin to feel like you’re not worthwhile.

I’ve been to jury before and they will all of you a million questions on if you’ll possibly be biased towards something. Once they’re done and everyone has said their case towards possible biase they’ll choose who stays and who goes. In this case folks struggling to make ends meet will be very biased from the start which in my opinion would call for the ruling to be thrown out. The law says to be considered guilty the jury must find the accused 100% guilty. Any doubt in the jury means the accused is not guilty.
