What Is The Process For Google One Family Sharing?

Google One family sharing is a feature that allows users to share the benefits of Google One with their family group without sharing personal files. Family members can access the storage space provided by their Google One plan, but they cannot see what you store unless you specifically share it from Google Drive, Gmail, or Google Photos. To share Google One storage with your family, you need to set up a family group and enable the sharing feature either through the Google Account page or the Google One app.

Google One is essentially the paid version of Google Drive, providing extra storage beyond the free 15GB for use across Drive, Gmail, and Photos. You stay enrolled unless you choose to cancel. When you join a family group, you can share family services across Google with up to five family members. The 5 family member limit includes family members who have been enrolled in Google One.

Unlike a regular Google Drive subscription, you can share a Google One subscription with your family members, giving everyone in the household access to a large amount of storage. However, Google does not turn this feature on by default. To share Google One storage with your family, create a family group, become the family manager, invite up to five other people to join, and activate the storage share setting.

To share storage with your family group, go to Google One, click Settings, and turn on Share Google One with family. The storage space a Family Manager has will be shared with the family members, so your combined holdings will use up that storage space. For the Basic plan and above, you can share storage with other people at no extra cost, while your content remains.
