4.0 rating based on 89 ratings

Liam Payne, a One Direction musician, left behind a significant inheritance before his death. The musician was worth nearly $70 million at the time of his death and is set to give more than half of that to his son, Bear Grey Payne. Payne’s parents, Karen and Geoff Payne, were both nurses. In an emotional interview in 2022, Liam suggested that all of his money would go to his son Bear, who he shares with English singer Cheryl Cole.

Since the news of Liam Payne’s death was revealed on Wednesday, it has emerged that he is set to inherit his father’s net worth of more than AUD$109 million (about £56 million). The singer had a “good” childhood but had not much money. In an emotional interview following his birth in 2017, Liam revealed that he intended his son Bear Payne to inherit his fortune. A source who knows the family said they were “100 sure” that Payne’s parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, and his siblings would want to seek justice for him.

Liam Payne had a net worth of $70 million at the time of his death, and the Buenos Aires Herald claimed he said around the time of his death that he had $55 million. Now, seven-year-old Bear stands to inherit an eight-figure fortune from the pop star, whose funeral is being held in the same location.

Payne was also known for his charitable efforts, as he stated in a Snapchat video reflecting his desire to give back. However, according to the law, his son should inherit his entire fortune, but as Bear is only seven years old, the seven-year-old son of One Direction star Liam Payne is expected to inherit the tragic singer’s multi-million pound fortune.

  • If you see people convulsing, its time to call an ambulance. Liams last hours must have been awful. I dont care that he did it to himself like people are saying, I care that he suffered, was alone in a foreign country and in a drug induced psychosis with convulsions and people watched and did nothing. By the time they called for medical help, it was too late. Absolutely tragic. I dont know him but I feel his loss. It could happen to anyones brother. Love people the way you love your own family. Im so sorry to Liam. I wish i could have been there to help him.

  • He had issues he couldn’t handle himself. People think because you’re rich and you have lots of adoring fans and money to fix everything you’ll be ok. He used drugs and alcohol to alleviate the pain that overwhelmed him, and because he didn’t continually and verbally ask for help, nobody came to help him. Some of the signs were there though.

  • No matter how many times I see that he’s passed, i just can’t quite believe it ❤ I’ve never been a follower of one direction. But this breaks my heart ❤ The bullying this man experienced online. Truly devastating. Sending so much love to his family. His friends, band mates and fans ❤😢 Be kind!! Always! ❤

  • Mylene had the last laugh, absolutely stunning face and figure, amazingly talented and incredibly articulate. I am really glad they had her on the show because I think having gone through the manufacturing process and her being a Mother she is a good example and role model of someone who can truly reflect on the music industry and how hard times were and still are but how they have changed over the years as well. Poor Liam, there for the grace of god go I, rest in peace young man, you are in a better place now. Sending my heartfelt condolences to all his Family and Friend’s and those who loved him. ❤️‍🩹

  • This happened 7 days ago and im still breaking down crying about it. Im 27. I loved 1D on the x factor then when they came out with theirbfirst album i had kinda grew out of it and saw it as ‘lame’ mainly cause of the fans. BUT then at 16 i watched the movie and i fell in love with these boys. Men now… Like i said. Im 27 now. My son is 9. It feels like yesterday he was 7. Which is what age Liams son is now. I cant imagine telling my son his dads gone…my sons lost an uncle and two great grandparents. In his short 9 years but i cannot imagine that pain of having to tell him that. Not just that though, he was a brother, he was a son, he was a friend… I didnt know him i never met him yet i am broken over this i just was so shocked. Its not like famous people that i live have never died before. Matthew Perry was hard. I was tearing up constantly, any froends shorts on youtube. I only just rewatched it this year in like june because i couldn’t bring myself too. But i also couldn’t let myself get so upset over it were as im actually taking the time to watch things and cry. But youd think id have it outbmy system by now… I think i need to avoid everything to do with it until i get some distance behind his death because this isnt healthy. Ive cried over liam more than my grampa in law which breaks my heart but i had been greifing him for a while as he had cancer and wasnt planning on doing anything from the minute he found out

  • Ban anyone under 18 being in the Industry. And let’s stop putting people on a pedestal. It must be a mind …. to have millions of people know your name and feel they have a connection to you, when the reality is, they don’t even know you. Fame is twisted. Support people for their endeavours and creative output. But remember these are people we don’t know. Whether it’s praise you put upon them or otherwise. None of it is good. In the interim it may be an ego boost, but eventually if people suffer, it’ll only make them reach for other things to fill voids. He had all the money and reach to get help, but he didn’t, and that really is on him. People can’t make someone get help.

  • Yes, the industry let him down! There’s more to music than the money these music companies need, just look at the fans holding the vigils, that is emotion, empathy, humanity. Liam Paynes success is right there, within his fans. Liam you were too young, the situation you were in was not your fault. Rest in peace 🙏.

  • I have a take on this from another angle. Of course, LP is not the first to die as there many examples we’ve experienced over the years; George Michael, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, INXS Michael Hutchence, Michael Jackson, Keith Flint….There’s a common denominator. On the flipside, arguebly in my lifetime one of the best music producers of Rave, Liam Howlett, we have the Gallagher Brothers, Richard Ashcroft, Clff Richard, Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, who have been around. So what’s the reason we have others alive whilst some have fallen to the sword?

  • Such a tragedy. Isolation in coping?! Exploitation, scrutiny, rollercoaster of fame and inadequate, positive and safe management in the Entertainment Industry, so needed, must be worked out by the greater powers. Sports also, where the young have great talents but also exploited without adequate, positive and safe support. Too many young people suffer at the hands of others who bring them harm as they are exploited exposed to access from the public. God bless and many prayers.

  • They may be exploited but if you cant deal with it get out if the industry . I think they are addicted to the fame as much as some of them are to drink and drugs . Seem to be pretty vulnerable in the first place, its a sad situation and I feel so much for Liams family and especially his son who has to deal with all the media attention . Leave it alone for goodness sake, it’s all too much, and selfish . Mental health has to be dealt with sensitively

  • I couldn’t agree more with myleene the entertainment industry is just toxic and young people have to deal with so much in it especially when your so young its heartbreaking how it ended for Liam he was such a talented young man my toughts and prayers are with all his family friends bandmates and his young son bear

  • They see kids and teens full of energy and just pump whatever ounce of talent out of them. Not taking a second to remember these are people who need a break. We saw it in their documentary, mid tour – after performing concerts they would have the boys wake up in the middle of the night to record new music. People wanted to make money off these people and don’t care once they are burnt out and struggling to grasp reality.

  • Everyone is guilty. These stars are surrounded by “yes” people who are only interested in what they can get out of that person’s fame. The more you tell someone they can do what they want, the harder the fall. And as a society that values fame and money, we too are guilty of putting these young stars under such intense scrutiny. What a tragic loss. 😢

  • It’s one thing is that the man pass away and thats a tragedy, especially since he was young and for his family. But here is not just a problem of the industry, but also himself… The things that has been he did show it’s not just because of his problems dealing with fame, money, substance abuse or depression, but some more deap hurtfull behavior he had against someone else He had four bandmates who you don’t read múltiple acussations about them like the ones said about him, from an ex partner and fans There is also been many celebrities dealing with similar issues, and the same thing, there is not even half the bad things said about them, like they have said for years about Liam Payne So, while there is a problem with the industry, that doesnt mean he was just another víctims, it can be true he was an example of how bad things may go, but he also wasnt an angel

  • Its SAD that despite DRUGS are banned in most countries these so called Role Models not only procure but consume it setting Bad Example. There is NO psychologist or psychiatrist that prescribe recreational DRUGS to treat patients. Having a talent or money does NOT mean that you can ABUSE your body & mind. In all religions and cultures you are taught to respect your parents and kids. His actions have only given them PAIN. He was so fortunate to have a lovely son and parents. SAD but TRUE. RIP 🙏

  • Uhm I don’t think I would let the entertainment industry take over my son’s life when he was a 14 year old. No appearing on talent shows. If you are going to allow your kid to do this you have to be an advocate and be present and know what is going on at all times. He was only a child. Where are the parents in this? We all know what happens to a lot of child stars. They end up ruined.

  • The materials used are top notch. The leather feels soft and luxurious, exactly like the real thing. The stitching is impeccable, with no loose or uneven lines. The hardware (including the iconic CC twist lock clasp) is durable, well made, and adds to the overall elegance of the bag :yt: kislux :yt: . I thought everyone who owned an LV monogram bag knew that it was obviously coated canvas? When people spend a fortune on an expensive bag, they might as well buy a replica

  • Some of the comments are very odd to me. Can we stop enabling to blame the music industry or fame. Let me me just clarify, any death is awful. A younger generation, or an older generation. The loss is very painful for their family members. Sorry to say this but what about people who aren’t famous who go through this? The comments saying “blame the parents” etc I’m sorry but he was 31. He also had choices, he also had the finances to try and help himself and get the support. What about the people who don’t have a choice? Look at the people suffering in the world being bombed or burned alive on IV drips. It’s not the industry, please hold people accountable for their actions. Yes it may be hard to seek help but he had people, support, friends and you also need to be able to help yourself.

  • Mylene enjoyed the fame and the Kim fell out with her. I have zero value for what she spouts. She mentions this pregnancy law to again self promote. Not sure what that has to do with this situation. Also fyi the law that is passed is to do with celeb pregnancies how is that relative to other everyday wonen.

  • Why is it everyone elses fault when these so called stars take drugs and drink to much they choose to do it then everyone else gets blame if you dont want fame and fortune dont enter competitions thst offer these rewards you go in with your eyes open so take responsibility for your actions and lets move on

  • I know that with today’s social media, regular media, and unintelligent fandom, this unfortunate need to scrutinize a dead celebrities’ life is “normal” but c’mon. He has passed away, let’s celebrate his great moments, and let’s move on. If we want to focus on fault, PARENTS are to blame. Yes, it’s great to support your children (and yourselves) to get that fame that many so oddly desire, but you must also be FULLY RESPONSIBLE for the negative consequences. If you don’t want your kids to enter such a world, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT allow them to get into that world – you have legal authority over your kids. So this one is easy – look at the parent(s).

  • I think it’s more to do with social media now, it’s alot harder now as you can never shut off from the scrutiny strangers have about you and the amount of nasty comments there is, it’s unreal and disgusting. I am not saying Mylene didn’t have it hard but now social media is around and has been around, there’s been alot of suicides because of it, it’s the worst place for bullying.

  • I know Simon or X factor haven’t purposely done this however I seriously think shows like X factor need to start taking some responsibility. For one no one under the age of 18 should even be allowed on the show. Second I believe everyone auditioning should be mentally examined. Won’t happen because this generates more drama, and money.

  • There is an unsettling possibility of foul play. A witness, interviewed by ITV, revealed that Liam had passed out in the lobby and remained unconscious when the hotel staff escorted him back to his room, about 5 minutes before his tragic fall. The same witness, residing exactly two floors below, observed the fall and heard the fatal impact, yet heard no sounds from Liam before or after the fall. A friend of the same witness, staying across from Liam’s room, believed he had a visitor earlier that morning. Following this mysterious visit, guests reported hearing strange, almost “primal” noises from Liam’s room throughout the day. The local district attorney’s office, speaking to CNN, suggested that based on the injuries and the position of Liam’s body, he may have been in a semi-conscious or unconscious state during the fall, hinting at a potential accident. However, the circumstances paint a far more perplexing picture. It is highly unlikely that, while semi-conscious, Liam could have broken the television, opened the door, made his way to the balcony, and jumped. Equally curious is the behavior of the hotel manager. Despite expressing concern over Liam’s “erratic behavior” and the dangers posed by the balcony, the staff returned him to his room while he was still unconscious rather than seeking medical attention at the hospital. Then, they only called for an ambulance minutes after his fall. It’s almost like they were waiting for the fall. Was this sequence of events part of a larger, more sinister plan?

  • Liam❤RIP, where was his help? I bet he was letdown, obviously he was struggling, but the fact it could off taken just a friendly face, to be there for him a chat and proper help these stars can also feel lonely. I mean I’m struggling and I’m not even famous. Mental health matters. Britney my icon also a victim, so sad how she was treated, she probably cracked, when her children were threatened to be taken away from her. She was put on Lithium….. a strong woman, who did 2 world tours circus/ femme fatale, probably also just felt alone and didn’t know or feel she could off reached out and get help. treated like a dog . Obviously we will never know everything but the industry is a joke. These celebrities at the end of the day have a passion for music, no one can understand the pressure and stress until they get to that level.

  • They focus on the start but it was the journey after 1D and Sony and his solo career that imploded. RIP Liam. Liam was recently axed by the record label (UNIVERSAL MUSIC). A source said: ‘Liam’s advance was massive and he didn’t recoup (it). ‘Out of all of the One Direction boys, Liam was on the wrong path musically.’ It is understood that the release of his second album was put on hold prior to Universal dropping him. Meanwhile, it can also be revealed that Liam’s PR resigned earlier this month, which left him without any publicity representation.

  • The woman on the end in blue has so much botox shot into her face that she can’t move her upper face at all. Ironic that she’s succumb to pressures of the entertainment and beauty industry but sitting on a panel talking about them. I don’t know who the woman next to her in the man’s suit jacket is, but am shocked the audience didn’t applaud when she said she got a law passed that people can’t announce someone else’s pregnancy until they’re at 12 weeks. That’s huge.

  • No he was a bad person and got the karma he deserved. Any man that utters the words ‘i would never let a man in a skirt near my son’ like he did when referring to Harry, not only offends him, but any vunerable lgbt+ person n who knows to took their own life after he said it, it is disgusting. Let alone how he treated his gfs .. The world will be a much better place without him, his son will be better off without him, he was not a good person, good riddens
