Is The American Father The Next Family Man?

4.5 rating based on 106 ratings

FOX has announced that Family Guy will return for an 11th season, while its spiritual spin-off, American Dad, will return for an eighth. The series will begin with a three-day marathon starting on January 1, airing back-to-back episodes from 7 p. m. to 5 a. m. ET/PT. After three days, classic episodes of Family Guy will air on weeknights from 10:00 –.

Family Guy and American Dad share many similarities, including their start and cancellation by Fox, but they have also been revived twice by Warner Bros. Discovery. Family Guy will return for its 18th season on Fox this fall, while American Dad has been renewed for its 17th season (5th on TBS).

The Griffin family will be on Adult Swim on January 1 from 7 p. m. ET/PT to 5 a. m. The cost to do the Simpsons/Family Guy crossover cost what it most likely takes to make 2 or 3 modern American Dad episodes (without Stunt). A crossover series with American Dad and Family Guy is expected in 2024, featuring Stewie Griffin and Brian Griffin.

American Dad! is an American animated television series produced by Underdog Productions and Fuzzy Door Productions for 20th Century Fox Television and for TBS since 2005. Since 2005, American Dad! has become an arguably better adult cartoon than Family Guy, whose Popcornmeter is often 10-20 lower. With 18 and moving from Fox to TBS in 2014, references between it and Family Guy have dwindled compared to what they used to be. However, MacFarlane’s true work of art is American Dad!, the more mature cousin of Family Guy centered on CIA Agent Stan Smith (voiced by Seth MacFarlane).

Is American Dad Going To End?

On December 16, 2021, TBS renewed American Dad! for its 20th and 21st seasons after the conclusion of the 18th season. The 20th season premiered on March 27, 2023, featuring 22 episodes, and is set to conclude on December 18, 2023. However, on May 12, 2023, it was revealed that showrunners, including Seth MacFarlane, would temporarily step back due to the Writers Guild of America strike. Despite these developments, American Dad! remains renewed for its 21st season. There are concerns regarding its future as TBS has curtailed scripted programming, and opinions suggest that the crew may wish for the series to wrap up. Fans have noted that recent episodes feel rushed, impacting quality.

American Dad! has successfully shifted its focus from political satire to a more surreal approach, allowing it to sustain an impressive 20-season run. Yet, there are uncertainties regarding the show’s longevity, with expectations that it may end production before Family Guy. Currently, both shows hold renewal until the 2024–25 season, but American Dad! may face a peculiar and dark finale, reflecting its unique evolution in animation history.

  • I’ve been practicing meg% speedruns for about 2 months now, and the current world record for this category is 0:27.295, but I’ve been cooking up some strategies to cut that record in half. contrary to what you may think, the well-known double-jump into the shoes is actually not the optimal strategy here, it’s actually to go to the right, and hit the nightstand at just the right angle to clip inside of it. what you want to do next is to position yourself at just the right spot then open the drawer of the nightstand to clip yourself outside the house, landing you at the newspaper scene. You would think that you would just be able to run through the wall, since there isn’t any collision for the wall behind the nightstand, but this would just result in meg dying of fall damage. however, since you are unable to take fall damage while opening a drawer, and because the drawer gains it’s own seperate collision when opened, the sudden appearance of collision where meg is causes her to fall onto the porch while still being in the drawer opening animation, and causing the newspaper scene to play out without meg dying. however, since meg came from the window and not from the door, she actually lands on top of the newspaper, which just so happens to have collision. with that in mind, meg attempts to pick up the newspaper while it’s on top of her, which is important for one reason: when stan, joe, or meg picks up the newspaper, it glides towards their hand rather quickly, and since the newspaper has collision, it actually ends up catapulting them forwards at an insane speed, launching them straight into the car.

  • Ok so I am gonna give you a tutorial on how you do this. First, you have to wake Stan up a little earlier by setting your alarm clock to 6:00 AM. He will wake up early to shave for work even though he has no chin hair. Next, you gotta switch to Family Guy and make Peter abuse Meg so hard that she gets sent to a different universe. Usually this speed run ends up in Meg quickly falling down the stairs and getting killed but it seems you have unlocked an ending where you slowed down so you made Meg insult everyone, causing them to be angry at you. Meg can’t go on and later ends her life so the game will just freeze right there for a few seconds and eventually crash.

  • Meg is his kid, Peter is her adopted dad, Lois was married to Stan (American dad) then had meg and broke up and married Peter and had Chris and Stewie, Lois of course got meg and Stan married again and had kids and discovered an alien and let it live in their attic, they finally got a fish and they are doing great, as for Lois, well, she should have stayed with Stan.

  • Remember when Meg was actually a normal teenage girl who was basically only bullied by school peers with occasional family teasing and most of the worst insults were just said by Stewie who were either not acknowledged or what ever since Stewie is a maniacal little asshole who kept trying to kill people? Why did they transition to just make being a punching bag by everyone? I don’t get this it’s not funny and from what I can tell most people hate it so why do they continue with this?

  • I feel like if Meg was in American Dad, It wouldn’t be all the way the same. i feel like Klaus, Hailey, Jeff, and her would have some good chemistry while kinda throwing slick shots at her. And Stan and Her could connect with Guns, maybe take her on a mission while keeping the gag going. Ironically even if American Dad still keep the “Shut Up Meg” and disrespecting Meg gag going, they could do it better than Family Guy could cause Family Guy could use the gag as good since of the environment and type of show it is.

  • This speedrun category is the worst one because of the 3.32 milliseconds you have to glitch speed the 1st cutscene of the alien and the american dad but the only way you can do the glitch is do it before the door opens but according to the speedrun monitors there is still a 1/150 chance to get this glitch but if you dont then that will cost you 3+s to the timer

  • So I heard there was a new DLC 4 American Dad it looks pretty good though I will say the model is a little off and the sunlight can use a little bit more work but from what I seen from the trailer it looks all right. But I will say that the storyline that they gone for wasn’t really all that original but it looks pretty great I wouldn’t mind buying it to see how it impacts the story but in all honesty it looks pretty good
