What Happens To Family Link When A Child Turns 18?

Family Link allows children to transition to a standard Google account at age 13, eventually becoming an adult account at 18. Teenagers can cease supervision anytime and will receive a notification if they choose to do so, with temporary device locking for 24 hours. Family Link helps parents monitor their children's online activities on Android and ChromeOS devices. While children under 13 can only use Google accounts created via Family Link, those aged 13 and older may continue using the app if they wish.

Upon turning 18, they gain independence but may face restrictions if Family Link remains active. The app allows parents to manage account settings, including screen time.
