  • Random thoughts: Elk Grove has it’s own mini, weather system that can be different from Sacramento, just 15 miles to the north. Delta breezes usually cool Elk Grove on the hottest days of Central Valley summers. Not so in Sacramento. And in winter, occasional enveloping ‘Tule’ fogs drift up the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta from San Francisco Bay. Also, Elk Grove has below average Internet service options.

  • What is your thought about a single recent retiree, around 64 with home paid for, valued at around $400,000, upgrading to a nicer home in Elk Grove? Is this quite rare, given that that with average life expectancy, probably not going to pay off the mortgage and payments are mostly interest at first? Thanks.

  • Elk Grove and Wilton.. EG was nothing but old Elk Grove especially prior to 1995.. then Laguna.. west of 99 developed properly. Now days it’s insane how this community has expanded and foodies fans will love it. Still there is a lot of houses that are built on top of each other with HOA or BS hidden on your purchase like Larousse. Your also on a flood plain! So “just be prepared for that” I love where I live now outside of ElkGrove my commute might be 60 miles one way but it’s zero traffic. Try Calaveras County for large lots or 7 acres with low tax like I have. EG is not what it used to be! Edited just to mention we do not have to smog our vehicles in Calaveras County! Red County Freedom
