Why Can'T I Share My IPhone Calendar With Someone?

To share an iPhone calendar stored in iCloud, both the sharer and the recipient must be iCloud users. Attempting to share a calendar with anyone outside this domain can lead to frustration. Ensure that both your internet connection and that of the invitees are stable. If you make changes to a shared event, refresh your calendar. In the Calendar app on your iPhone, tap "Calendars" to check if the calendar you want to share has the "Add Person" option.

If invitees haven't received an invitation, you can check for a Pending status, meaning they must accept the invitation. iPhones allow sharing of iCloud calendars in read-only mode or editing mode with specific users. Accepting invitations can occur through iCloud. com on a tablet or computer after signing in. For private calendar sharing, invitees must have an Apple account and use iCloud. Only the calendar owner can share it. If the email used for the invitation isn’t recognized, Calendar may not acknowledge you as the event creator.

To resolve issues, you can turn on Public Calendar, restart devices, or re-invite users. Properly managing calendar sharing involves ensuring all parties are on the same system and authorized to access the calendar, along with understanding potential privacy concerns.

  • Wish you had shown how to export an .ics file to your iPhone…and copy the ics file to a download folder on the iPhone. Can’t understand why Google wouldn’t just have an Import/Export option at the mobile stage, instead of having to click on the Desktop link to do it. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial.

  • Hi, this was very helpfull. Thumbs up! I have one question. If somebody shares his Google calendar with me, then I don’t see this calendar in the list of calendars to display in my iPhone calendar, below my google account. It seems that calendars shared by others with me cannot be added to MY apple calendar? I can only check my “own” google calendars to display in the Apple calendar. Is there a solution for this? thank you in advance.
