I’m owed $1,698,600.00 in today’s dollars if I was to personally sue the estate of the slave merchant who enslaved my grandpa. His asset value in 1860 – 1870 was $47,500! Nevertheless, that compensatory debt should be double or five times as much today ($2,948,600.00) due to punitive damages and emotional distress!

This is ridiculous. They have no issue handing out funding left and right for other nationalities yet it is required for black Americans African descendants to have all of this panel, discussion about how much is owed to our families. I was born in San Francisco 1973. My family lived in the Fillmore, and Hunter’s Pointe Area my great grandmother was from Texas. Unfortunately I do not know my family lineage, under these so-called drafts of San Francisco, my family definitely qualifies for these so-called reparations. Yet again we as Black people have to hurdle, fight and prove we qualify for their atrocities that they have committed amongst our families for over 250 years. Mind you these atrocities are still going on, and we are expected to ignore them, we are the only nationality that continues to stay separated. We have no unity. We are too busy fighting to survive in this system, no matter how many astonishing contributions we continue to provide to this country.

In Tennessee where i grew up blacks wasn’t allowed to drink out of the whites water fountains, and blacks weren’t allowed to enter the front door of any white business, the laws started to change in the early part of the 70’S and you couldn’t use the whites water fountains, and in the late 60’S they passed the segration law that allowed blacks to go to a white school, blacks had their own basketball team and other sports, now most whites has moved far away from the blacks, they moved to the country part of the city or town, its like they have their own cities to themselves. If this wasn’t being discriminated against i don’t know what is.

Reparations are a politically dead issue. With only 4% of the pre-Civil War white Southern population actually involved with owning other people as property, there is an inherent unfairness to the descendants of the non-slaveholding 96% in paying reparations. Let’s not forget that America’s first slaveholder was a POC too. Additionally, there are simply not enough descendants of slaves in this country to warrant the politicians giving them special attention for votes. Only those who actually felt the sting of the lash, and the direct deprivation of personal liberties at the hands of an “owner” will be deemed eligible. Nobody who fits that description is alive. I just presented the logical argument that will likely be used to table the issue permanently. Equal opportunity has been law for almost 60 years, but today’s deluded youth don’t seem to understand that equal opportunity is not a guarantor of equal outcome. The outcome is where the personal factor comes in. Those who want equal outcomes for all are blindly ignorant of the history of communist countries. Equity is the killer of incentive, innovation and a greater level of prosperity. I honestly don’t see why people are upset, its not coming out of their pockets. I pay over $20,000 dollars in taxes every year and i have no idea where that money is going and who is earning from my labor. So if the government wants to help me out, i absolutely do not mind, and i also wouldn’t care if they paid to another group for some other reason. But certain people are screaming mad and will die unless they can confirm that the majority of black Americans will forever live in absolute poverty. If you’re 50 yrs old, white and of sound mind and body there is absolutely no excuse if you do not own at least two homes by now, at least. But if you’re 50 and black why is it understandable if you are homeless? But if you break down non home ownership in the white community you’ll see it breaks down into mental disorders or substance abuse and criminal background. But non-homeownership with blacks, both men and women can be found to have college degrees and no criminal background.
I wonder they will be splitting hairs on which descendants receive reparations. Like, would this include reparations for descendants of those who were enslaved by native americans. Tribal nations are considered sovereign, both back then and now. Or, are these proposals just focused on slavery on U.S. soil in general.
Everybody wants to say no to us but expect everything to be given to them which most of them would probably receive, and I don’t want to hear shit about some other groups hardships because we don’t know or heard of, but we know of slavery, that’s why it’s not talked about in it’s real conversation, so yes give us what we’ve should have obtained a long time ago from A to Z

Black folks pull your money out of every unnecessary form of entertainment and distraction and put it away, and you would have your reparations. Do you really need to buy all those fireworks for a fourth of July, which doesn’t represent the freedom of black people in 1776. Emancipation proclamation did get written until 1863. Firework sales are in the billions every year. This is just one example of how you could collect what it owed.
It’s convenient that they give us our reparations at the highest level of inflation and the us dollar not even being the top dollar due to the introduction of the brix across the pond so yea and all this proof shit will get a lot of us screwed due to paper disputes and discrepancies and will it be taxed????? After reading the “rules” you can safely surmise this topic is laughable. Persecute freedom of speech right at the beginning, but in the same breath try and use a form of the constitution to ultimately substantiate your position on this topic. Most of the younger generation won’t understand just from me saying that…let me pontificate. This is an old cartoon that in a repeating segment, Lucy would entice Charlie Brown to kick a football. She would hold it(like attempting a field goal), he would go and kick it and at the last minute, she would pull the ball away and he would fall flat on his back every time. Charlie Brown reflects the majority of Black people and Lucy reflects White Liberals. Every election cycle since 1964, Black woman vote Democrat at least a 96% rate. The second highest are Black men at a 89% rate, the men are slowly coming around to the fact that these liberals don’t care about us. I’m not saying become a republican, what I’m saying is, use the parties like they’ve been using us since ’64. The liberals know most of us will vote their way REGARDLESS of their policies. They keep feeding us hope knowing they will never deliver and to keep you loyal tell you those racist Republicans is what caused reparations to die. During Obama’s administration, he had the House and Senate, but didn’t give out reparations. Right now Biden has the same situation, he’s more focused on disarming the American people and giving Israel and Ukraine billions instead of giving us what our people are owed.
This is pathetic. There were so many slaves in the world, white enslaved black, black enslaved white, white enslaved white, black enslaved black. My ancestors were enslaved by the Chinese and were used to build the Great Wall, The Chinese were enslaved by the Japanese, the Japanese were enslaved by Russians, and Russians were enslaved by so many people that the word Slave is derived from slavs. This talk of apologising should end, especially reparations

I feel like reparations shouldn’t be paid in dollars or crypto currency. I mean, no matter what the amount would be, how long will it last? And I have no use for a mule. I feel that every person of African descent, should be paid in education. African descendants should receive free 4 year college educations to any university, college or trade school they choose to attend at no cost to them. Knowledge is a lifetime resource that can’t be taken away and will never lose value. The more someone knows, the further they will go and the more opportunities they can create for themselves and others.
