I was breeding a lvl 30 female and lvl 24 male Tapejara. Mostly, I got got babies that were lvl 29 or less, with mixes of the parents coloring. Then i got a lvl 31 male. (higher than either parents lvl) Its body and wing membranes were a combination of it’s parents coloring. However, it’s wing arms, the stiff parts of its frill, and lips were white, even though neither parent had ANY white.
To find out if you have a mutation, of color, or not…you look at the family tree. It will say “Random Mutations: 1/20. Sooo “kinda determine?” We’ve been breeding since it was first implemented. We’ve got 7th and 8th generations…we’ve gotten colors bred out certain colors and then we got what we thought was a mutation…blue wing tips, BUT that was from the great grandmother, not a random mutation. Look to the numbers! We just got a wolf pup that was lava color or some may say a burnt orange to bright orange…it’s so awesome!!! Like a really cheesy Cheeto! All our stats come from the parents. We’ve gotten levels over 300 and their stats are kick arse!
You are adorable lol it counts the parents mutations and adds 1 because of the baby. You get random mutations more out of 0/20:0/20, they stop making new ones when you go passed 20/20:20/20. Don’t breed mutations together unless you want specific colors. It will take up your mutation tree so you won’t get new ones. The colors don’t just come from the set of parents it comes from the entire coloration in its entire tree. If you get a whole set of the same color with all 0/20:0/20 and keep breeding over and over(don’t breed babies together), then you will see the obvious color mutations easier because they don’t have a high range of color to choose from. It will take the parents standard color or mutate a new color.
I breed argys and Pterandon. I have multiple mutations going. The most noticeable it Argents with Lime Green feet. I have been able to pass this mutation about 75% of the time. I also seem to get mutations when breeding wilds, or via incest type breeding. I do not think incest increases the chance. Most of the mutations I have gotten are not visible (at least no one has spotted what they are). Just tossing in some info for ya from my experiences.
Saw the title, was hoping to learn something new about mutations, but you were so unclear and unorganised, it was hard to follow your train of thought when you were going “wait was it this one? Or this one?” Then when you said you couldn’t tell if it was a stat mutation…because you havnt been taking stats down…that’s breeding 101, how else are you supposed to determine which stats came from what parent? If one stat is significantly different from either parent, it’s a stat mutation. Alas, still no answers to what triggers the mutation, and whether inbreeding or cross breeding yield higher chances of a mutation occurring.

So your telling me that u got a mutated dad and and made it have sex and u got a boy and then u make the boy have sex and the boy has a daughter then u make the boy have sex with its daughter then get a another boy then u make at have sex with its mother. This ancestral lines stuff is wired as shit also if u have to get mutations by inbreeding is that like encouraging dinosaur incest I swear I’m not going to do any of this stuff it’s weird as hell
