Does The Warmbier Family Back Trump’S Candidacy?

4.5 rating based on 96 ratings

Otto Warmbier, an American student who died after 17 months in North Korea, was held by the regime for allegedly trying to steal a propaganda poster. After returning to the United States in 2017, Warmbier died shortly afterward. President Donald Trump condemned the North Korean regime for the imprisonment of the American student, but the family of Otto Warmbier rebuked Trump for siding with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who denied knowledge of their son’s maltreatment.

The Warmbiers’ criticism comes soon after Trump claimed that he believed the North Korean leader had no foreknowledge of the treatment of Otto Warmbier. The Ohio man’s parents issued a strong statement Friday blaming Kim Jong Un for their son’s death, a day after Trump refused to fault the North Korean dictator for the torture, imprisonment, and eventual death.

The family of Otto Warmbier rebuked President Donald Trump for siding with Kim Jong Un, who denied knowledge of their son’s maltreatment. They were guests of honor at President Trump’s State of the Union address in 2018, and they have said their son was “murdered” by North Korean authorities.

After Trump seemingly absolved North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the death of Otto Warmbier, the Ohio man’s parents spoke out against Kim Jong Un, who President Donald Trump defended in Hanoi on Thursday. The family of Otto Warmbier has reacted after Donald Trump’s meeting with Kim Jong-un, and the parents of Otto Warmbier say that Kim and his evil regime are responsible for their son’s death.

In conclusion, the family of Otto Warmbier, an American student who died after 17 months in North Korea, has rebuked President Donald Trump for siding with Kim Jong Un, who denied knowledge of their son’s maltreatment. This comes after Trump claimed that Kim Jong Un had no foreknowledge of Otto Warmbier’s death and that no excuses can change that.

  • President Trump has not been disrespectful or uncaring to Otto’s parents, nor am I when I ask “how do Otto’s parents know what was the cause of Otto’s severe brain damage, whether it was from natural causes or a physically induced cause by the North Korans ??” … the American physicians could not say it was caused by any mistreatment to Otto … yes, the NK regime has caused insufferable human rights violations and wrongful deaths, that is a known fact … President Trump has not been silent on that fact either, more so he has been very vocal about it, most likely it has been President Trump’s loud and repeated vocal condemnations of NK’s human rights atrocities that is the reason so many people in America have become aware of it …

  • I guarantee that none of these people will say these thing to Kim’s face. All they are doing is asserting that he is responsible, but how do they know that? Kim say’s he didn’t know, so what is Trump supposed to do? Call him a liar and undo all of the progress they’ve made in forming a relationship? These people are stupid for criticizing the President in this way, they don’t understand the complexity of this situation. You can’t just demand that north Korea be nicer, cause they won’t listen. You have to first make them economically dependent on us and then use that leverage to get what we want or at least a compromise.

  • President Trump is not naive and he is far from trusting KJU, at least not completely, but they, both, are playing politics and that is how the game is played. Although I respect very much the suffering of Otto’s family, they should not state any opinions about this, at least not publicly. We must remember that THEY raised that young man and contributed to make him very naive which in the end contributed to HIS own demise. It is nobody’s fault, Otto brought this upon himself. Even if NK is a very dangerous place, all the others in the group made it back alive, Otto did not respect the rules, took something that he should not have and faced the brutal consequences for it. They should be grateful to President Trump for bringing Otto back to the US so he could at least die with dignity surrounded by his family. Others are not so lucky. Now, STOP WHINING!!!

  • When in doubt… apply RULE #1 –it’s TRUMP’S FAULT! TRUMP said, “No-Ko… why not? D Rod goes there…” So, Trump sent Otto, then advised him to just bring home a memento… who cares where from. NoKo will understand Otto was just a young man in the PRIME of his youth… no prob… AND they’ve got a million propaganda posters there… that’s ALL THEY HAVE, right?? They won’t miss just ONE… yep that was TRUMP’S FAULT. So TRUMP DID WHAT OBAMA NEVER WOULD’VE DONE –HE interceded on the family’s behalf, like a REAL PRESIDENT… but as in the situation of the little caravan girl and the ICE agents… circumstances beyond TRUMP’S CONTROL prevailed and a life was lost… ergo, apply RULE #1. Now… TRUMP is negotiating some terrorism constraint deal with national diplomacy in the balance –and gets more armchair quarterbacking from persons with no more situational awareness than when they let their son go off to North Korea in the first place! Their hearts, we know, are crushed again beneath the heavy wheels of this caisson… so… Apply Rule #1.

  • We should look at the facts of this case and the principle of “cause and consequences”. If Mr. Warmbier jun. didn´t travelled to North Korea and had stolen a poster, then he would be still alive. Life could be so easy. Of course it is a tragedy but every adult person is responsible for himself. Americans must respect other countries and cultures . Americans must respect the laws of the tourist countries.
