President-elect Donald Trump has been criticized for his controversial stance on veterans and military service. During his first term in office, Trump granted 144 pardons, including distant family members and close allies. In response to President Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter Biden, there is renewed interest in who Trump has previously pardoned. Trump’s claim that he is the only U. S. president in the last 72 years not to “have any wars” is not supported by evidence.
Trump’s family members and key allies, such as billionaire Elon Musk, have publicly pushed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to appoint her as Rubio’s successor. Trump Jr. has tweeted that he is the first president in modern history who did not start a new war. Trump has also criticized the military community, comparing the heroism of late Sen. Family members of at least six of the 13 U. S. service members killed in the Aug. 26 attack in Kabul have been publicly critical of Biden. It is unclear whether any of Trump’s family members will work in his administration.
