Cristina Ferrare, the longtime co-host of “Home and Family”, has left the Hallmark Channel’s morning show. Ferrare joined the show six years ago after his original partner, Paige Davis, left. A few years later, Hallmark decided to go in a different direction and let Ferrare return. Today, the Hallmark Channel announced that Debbie Matenopoulos will replace her as co-host of the daytime talk show. Ferrare has hosted the series alongside Mark Steines since 2012.

The cancellation of “Home and Family” was first reported in March 2021 when a spokesperson for the channel told Variety that the show would end in August. Cristina Ferrare, a former fashion model, actress, author, and host with credits including AM Los Angeles and The Home Show, will take over the co-host role beginning November. She has had an accomplished career as a speaker, NLP/Life Coach, and breast cancer survivor.

Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, an American television personality and real estate agent, has appeared as a main cast member on the show. She filed for divorce from husband Josh Hall on July 15, and she also filed for divorce from realtor Farrah Majors on July 8.

Farrah Abraham, a ‘Teen Mom’ alum, welcomed her daughter Sophia in 2009, and they had no children. Christina Solivan, 38, of Lawrence, passed away tragically on November 16, 2024.

In summary, Cristina Ferrare, a former fashion model, actress, author, and host, is leaving the Hallmark Channel’s morning show “Home and Family”. She has been absent from the show for two weeks and did not return for a send-off. Ferrare’s departure comes as the show’s on-air lineup shakes up, with the show ending its long run.

What Happened To Christine On Home And Family?

"Home and Family" has seen significant changes in its lineup, particularly with the departure of longtime co-host Cristina Ferrare, whose presence was integral to the show's charm since its debut in the 90s. Despite several co-hosts over the years, Ferrare remained irreplaceable, embodying the heart and soul of the program. Recently, it was announced by co-host Mark Steines that Ferrare would be replaced by Debbie Matenopoulos immediately, a move that took fans by surprise, as Ferrare had not been present for two weeks and did not receive a send-off. Ferrare had hosted the show on the Hallmark Channel since 2012 until her abrupt exit in 2016, which she described on social media as being fired.

While Ferrare has shifted her focus after leaving, Matenopoulos, a former co-host of "The View", is set to join Steines as the new co-host. Ferrare's departure from "Home and Family" mirrors her earlier experiences, having co-hosted the show from 1996 to 1998 on The Family Channel before its conclusion. The beloved show faced cancellation in early 2021, prompting fans to wonder about the cast's futures. Throughout her personal life, Ferrare remains a devoted mother to her three daughters.

Is Christina'S Charm Gone?

Christina's absence from the show has left a significant void, leading to feelings of disappointment among viewers. Many feel it has devolved into just another ordinary DIY series lacking the charm that initially captivated audiences. The likelihood of turning off the show has increased, with fans pleading for Christina's return to salvage its longevity. Comments on social media reflect this sentiment, with some joking about her departure and noting a similar vibe to characters from other shows.

A TikTok video illustrates this nostalgia, drawing connections between Christina and other pop culture references. Amid this, discussions about various charm items have emerged, showcasing a range of products related to Christina's brand. While nostalgic memories from earlier seasons linger, there is a sense of loss for the personal touch and connection viewers once felt. Similarly, questions arise about the future of other related shows and characters.

Overall, the shift in the show’s direction has sparked conversations about its relevance and viewers' hopes for a revitalized format that once featured the indelible charm Christina brought to the screen.

  • It shows how Farrah has not grown when she judges Amber for being on probation. Maybe Amber being on probation has changed her into being a better person doing better things for herself & others. That’s why I’m so glad Farrah is off the show because she just brings so much negativity and judgment when it’s not necessary…

  • Amber lost custody of Leah and is working hard to get her back into her life. It seems that Farah lost custody of Sophia and doesn’t understand that her actions is the reason why? Farah never asked about how Leah is doing, there is no exchange or care about her supposed friend. Amber is not a perfect person but is putting her self together to put her daughter first. Farah is very self centered and is blaming everyone else for her actions.

  • I’ve always rooted for Amber, she’s always owned up to her mistakes & short comings as a mom. I feel she’s on a much better path & with continued therapy, I pray 🙏 her relationship grows with her kids. Farrah thinks she has a reason for her behavior, entitled to say & do whatever she wants. I belive the lady from the show…Farrah has hate towards herself. But leaves every therapist that tells her what she does not want to hear. That’s the difference between these two. Plus a lot more differences in their private life, like parting, selling 💩 etc. Amber has a good head on her shoulders, I have faith in her.

  • Farrah is incapable of speaking to anyone without a demeaning tone man lol. Like everything she says is passive aggressive, every single word. And it’s always everyone else is crazy, she’s never in the wrong. Just listening to the way she was speaking to amber makes my skin crawl, if you’ve ever delt with someone like her in your real life, just hearing another person speak the way she does makes your stomach turn.

  • I think Farrah has alot of emotional pain shes never dealt with. Especially the death of Sophias dad, in all the older seasons when she started to break down about him she would immediately try and shut it off instead of just feeling it and accepting the pain and trying to work through it. I hope one day she can actually feel inner peace.

  • Yeah but Farrah also went through trauma when she carried Sophia, this doesn’t excuse her negativity; but Farrah has closed herself off from feeling pain, remember everyone has there child’s father’s; with or without them present! So I can only wonder if that why she’s so closed off!!!! Sophia & Farrah have had to move in life without much support!!!! So she probably rather not talk about her inner deep issues….. it’s traumatic & sad!!!!

  • Farrah is insufferable, seemingly miserable, and just hurtful all the way around to the people who love and care about her the most. But I feel it’s because it stems from deep trauma and hurt. The father of her child and her were in an on and off again situation because her parents didn’t approve of him and then all of a sudden he died while she was pregnant. it’s a freaking lifetime movie that she was living at only 16 years old and I don’t think many take that into consideration.

  • I love this moment ngl and went back to it during all the stuff going on with amber Idk why but part of me has always felt real sympathy for these two because of course they’ve grown up in front of our eyes and I just really wanted both of them to be happy so I actually love seeing them and being able to sit down together and talk because a few years ago that wasn’t the case

  • Amber has done so much growing since the show aired and it really makes me mad that Farrah goes on to say, “This is not a different Amber than I used to know, she’s on probation you can fill in the blanks.” Farrah thinks she can do nothing wrong and acts like she hasn’t done anything wrong. At least Amber is trying to change and has changed. You don’t say that to someone who is asking how you’re doing. She was being so immature.

  • Listen in the times we are in it isnt even worth holding grudges anymore over petty fights.. We share a mutuality now in that we have all felt loss in one way or another and love is what we need the most right now and i commend them for at least trying. If you read this.. May love and family.. And peace find you 🙏

  • Amber : genuinely caring and trying to help… Farrah: this isn’t the real amber, she’s just on probation … this woman has deep seeded wounds and pain. Unless she ever really gets help and does the work, that pain will forever create in her an ugly heart and character, and no amount of plastic surgery will hide that.

  • it but I am glad that these two sat down and actually had a conversation and Amber of all people pulling her to the side that whole entire cast does not like her even the people that don’t even know who she is they don’t like her but for Amber of all people to pull her to the side and have a one on one with her was a very big move something I thought I’d never live to see happened because I followed all these girls since day one so that was a huge step up if you ask me

  • I don’t think a brick to her head could get “through” to that girl I swear…. she must live a very lonely existence, glad she is so secure in her life but I feel like she has alienated so many people with this “I’m too good for this. I’m better than you” attitude that I guarentee she isn’t as secure and happy as she claims to be… but thats her own fault.

  • Kudos to amber for being so loving and nice to Farrah considering the reunion a few years back when amber was gonna beat the breaks off Farrah amber has grown since then I applaud her for that Farrah is still the mean spirited person she’s always been hasn’t grown at all even after Amber was there for her she still made a sarcastic remark smh. She needs prayer and help something is really wrong with her.

  • I feel bad for Farrah as I doubt she wakes up every day and wants to be hostile and defensive. Her life would be much easier If she could comprehend that not everyone is out to get her. It goes beyond someone who is being rude, and falls more into someone grasping at literally anything to try and interact with others and not understanding how to without it turning toxic. She is constantly on the defensive at all times, and it had to be exhausting.

  • I remember when this first came out because I live in Omaha outside of Council Bluffs..the shit town Farrah is from. In the beginning you see her talking about the father of her unborn baby and that her mother hated him and she hated him too and he would call her and she would hang up on him and then actually try to mourn him years later after he was killed after some local bar allowed him to drink underage and then drive. She never gave a shit about him until it became good drama for her on the show.I also knew her hairstylists( shit was staged so badly making it look like one girl in the first 2 seasons was her stylist) but her real stylist was on one of the episodes and said she showed up late and faked the whole scene. He had even set her up with his son who couldn’t stand her(that aired as well). I remember sitting in a restaurant talking to him and he told me so many things about her that I could have sold a story to Hollywood regarding her family and her background. Girl be f**ked up. She prides herself on being an entreprenuer but she actually makes her money chasing TV shows for a small part of keeping her image alive. She wants her face out there so bad that Farrah would go to an opening of an envelope.

  • I can see and understand why are the people that flipped out flipped out Sarah used a very racist word not going to say it because I don’t condone the use of that word or any other racist language but even being told that she was using language that was racist she couldn’t understand it and she tries to portray herself as being so well educated I do not think so if she carries on going the way she’s going she’s gonna end up in prison or someone’s gonna end up beating her badly she needs to grow up she needs to apologise about the words she used

  • Ew. I haven’t seen these girls in years. I’m 31, around the same age. Time sure flies. Maci is the only one who still looks the same 😬 Farrah looks like a whole different person. So glad I didn’t end up like some of these women. This show makes me grateful for what I have and appreciate what I have and had as a teen and now in my 30s

  • The trouble with Farah is, she thinks she can say what she wants with no repercussions. She’s not real she’s mean whatever you type whatever you say at some point you have to defend what you say instead of feeling attacked what she should’ve done if she was truly sorry and she obviously wasn’t is say hey I said a shitty thing. I do apologize and that’s that instead she felt and made it about race. She should have just owned what she did if she honestly thinks she can say things like this and someone will not address it she’s going to be attacked, that’s just that if she felt strongly that what she said wasn’t attack then she should’ve stuck by it and owned it instead of acting like a little baby you say something own it don’t make it about race because you feel attacked except consequences when you talk not everybody is just going to sit there like Amber and that’s to ambers credit who knows this girl better than everybody else and knows what she does but she try to be peaceful. Because she knows how disgustingly ugly it could’ve got, and that just validates the arguments Amber had with her in the past . God bless Amber for calming the situation but she knows better than anyone else what it is like to deal with a person who doesn’t take ownership of her own actions it’s hard to dismiss it Farrah thinks she can say whatever she wants and nobody’s going to call her on it that’s not the case. Amber has grown, but that is why none of these girls invite farah to anything. She just doesn’t understand she’s not liked.
