I made this scene a long-time-running-joke with my brother. Whenever we’re making plans and I feel like annoying him, I just say, “D-do-d-dyouwanapickmeup?” and he instantly gets annoyed and then cracks a smile hahah For reference, we saw this scene when it came out, idk, maybe more than a decade ago? We were kids. We’re currently in our mid 20s. Probs will be using this to annoy him in our 50s.
He asks repeatedly because the person on the other end of the line is trying to be polite by not answering, instead trying to move the topic onto something else. That’s the joke. That the guy is annoying to even his friends, but it’s a stranger that thinks fuck that and does him in. I cannot believe how many people’s sense of humour lack wit or basic understanding. I’m deeply saddened by this.
