The Martinez family, who were evicted from their home after winning justice for false accusations against them, are in dire need of a temporary home. ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover has built a brand-new home for the family, known for opening doors to homeless people living in the “War Zone”. On November 4, 2024, Officer Enrique Martinez was tragically slain in the line of duty while serving and protecting others. Gerald had made his home a safe haven for several people, but their fixer-upper duplex had been an issue for the Martinez family, who could no longer have privacy. Last year, ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover crews knocked down the Martinez family home near Bell Avenue and Grove Street Southeast, and they spent one incredible week there. With dwindling privacy and resources, the Martinez family is in dire need of a new and safe home where they can continue their mission to save the town of Trumbull.

Home Again LA welcomed the Martinez family, a single mother with one child, and they sought refuge in their shelter program after losing her home. Franchesca Martinez, a single mom, and her 12-year-old daughter Lina are on their journey with Habitat for Humanity. Their bond is unbreakable, and they share a love for their community.

The Martinez family of Edinburg has been the epitome of generosity and giving back to the community since moving back to the Rio Grande Valley in 2003. They are now functionally homeless, and they cannot let another injustice harm them.
